Screen setup

If you are fullscreen, switch to window-mode first with 'Alt+Enter'
Make the main window maximum height and adjust the width to have nice round meter dials.
Show the Control Display Unit (CDU) of the Flight Management Computer (FMC) with the 'FMC' button on the 'Panel switcher' or with shortcut 'Ctrl+Shift+F'
Undock the CDU by right mouse click > 'Undock'. Move the CDU to a convenient place on your screen.
Maximize the 3 'glass panels' with menu 'Views'>'Instrument Panel'>'Zoom Panel' or shortcut 'Ctrl+Shift+M'
Now your screen looks like above.
It is adviced to learn the shortcuts, because during flight it works easiest and fastest. The 'Panel switcher' can be turned on or off by clicking the window style.

Save as Flight

This is a good moment to save the current setup/situation as Default Flight.
Then you don't need to do all of this setup again next time.
In the menu go to 'File'>'Save Flight...' and call it for example 'KLM 747-400 at EHAM gate F4 Cold and Dark'

ATTENTION: Check if all switches are in the correct positions. Sometimes these are not saved correctly!
Especially MCP and lighting switches go wrong sometimes.
